Diabetes Mellitus is an illness that shows high levels of blood sugar. There may be two key reasons behind high blood sugar: DIABETES TYPE I - production of less insulin DIABETES TYPE II- Body not able to use the right amount of insulin.
Women who are pregnant have had this condition known as gestational diabetes which causes the start of DIABETES TYPE II. Many patients have faced the two conditions at the same time.
Food taken in is converted into glucose once it enters the blood. It is converted into energy. The insulin in the pancreas digests it. The secretion of insulin will be released according to the quantity of sugar in the blood. In Other ways insulin might not be taken in by the cells and because of this sugar may shoot up. The main reason that affects the levels is insulin.
The characteristic features of diabetes are frequent urination, feeling of hunger and thirst. Diabetics fast when they have type I which is supposed to be the striking symptom. People face extreme weight loss though they eat their food the right way. Diabetes type II is a slow condition to face that needs a regular schedule of tracking blood sugar levels.
Lack of glucose absorption means it does not have the usual effect on cells that require it, nor is it stored as it should be in the liver and muscles. This eventually affects cell growth and duplication, poor protein synthesis, fat storage, and other metabolic disorders, including acidosis.
Once diabetes is diagnosed, the only option available to an individual is to manage blood sugar levels. If insulin production is insufficient or absent, then there is a need for injecting insulin. Diet modification is a natural way of managing the blood sugar levels. A diabetic person should take a diet based on foods that have less effect on blood sugar levels.
